These harrowing stories remind us of the importance of having a storm shelter to protect our families, friends, and neighbors. Our homes, cars, and belongings can be replaced...our lives cannot.

The Swopes family's Safe Shed was installed in January of 2025, and then sustained a direct hit by an EF-3 tornado just a few months later in May! A video was shared on YouTube showing their 6' x 6' Safe Shed still standing behind their home. Mr. Swopes commented, "This was our home. Safe Shed is the only reason my family still exists." |

When an EF-3 tornado tore through their property in Henagar, Alabama, three members of the White family were already inside the Safe Shed storm shelter they had installed 10 years earlier. The tornado destroyed their mobile home and barn. And Mr. and Mrs. White, and their nephew, survived without a single injury. Their Safe Shed shelter was the only thing left standing. In the aftermath, the family was able to store salvaged valuables in their shelter. |

In 2013, the McDaniel family had a near-miss from a devastating tornado, so they bought a Safe Shed shelter. Little more than a year later, in April of 2014, they were directly in the path of an EF4 tornado - and their Safe Sheds storm shelter purchase saved their lives! |
The tornado lifted a full-sized pickup truck and slammed it into the shelter, wrapping the truck around the reinforced steel door. When they walked out of the Safe Shed, completely unharmed, almost everything they owned had been destroyed. The Safe Shed had zero structural damage. |
