Debris Test on Safe Sheds, Inc. Storm Shelter Door
|
On July 27, 2009, and again on August 24, 2018, a debris impact test was performed by the Wind Science and Engineering Research Center at Lubbock, Texas, on a Safe Sheds, Inc. storm shelter door. As the video to the left shows, our door was subjected to three impacts by a 15 lb. 2" x 4" board, fired at a speed of 100 mph. from the impact cannon. The door passed all tests and was found to meet the engineering requirements of FEMA Pub. 320 and 361 for storm shelter doors. Our doors are much heavier and more reinforced than standard exterior doors.
